Beth & Nick – slideshow

Beth & Nick

Last weekend I hat the pleasure of shooting Beth & Nick’s wedding in Lake Orion, MI. It was a little brisk outside and it did end up raining just a little but that didn’t stop us from getting some great shots. Beth was stunning and such a joy to photograph.

Thank you both for letting me be part of your wedding day!

Stay tunes for the slideshow which will follow soon.

Beth’s flower girl, Bailey, stole the show at the salon, going crazy with the camera, taking photos of everything and everyone. She was my little assistant for the day.

The guys went to lunch at Palazzo di Bocce which is a restaurant that has indoor bocce ball courts. I absolutley LOVE this place. It’s such a great concept and a great atmosphere. I would love to bring one to Grand Rapids.

Beth & her dad surprised everyone by busting out to “Great Balls of Fire” instead of the “traditional” father daughter dance.

life is precious

Today, on my way home from Detroit, I saw break lights ahead of me and I thought it was just another construction traffic jam. As I got closer I realized that there was a really bad accident that had literally just happened on the other side of the highway. I immediately pulled over to see if I could help and my journalist instincts kicked in and I took some photos.

It’s hard to know how to act and what’s appropriate to take photos of in these situations. I wish I would have grabbed more shots and took more gear with me but because I don’t find myself in these situations much, so I wasn’t as mentally prepared as I should’ve been.

I didn’t know it at the time, but unfortunately, the women who was driving the red car was pronounced dead at the scene. I chose not to look in the car because I really didn’t want those images in my memory bank and I’m really glad, now that i know she had in fact died, that I didn’t. It really gave me an eerie feeling to know that a women had just been killed in this accident and how life can be taken away from us at any second. Fortunately the woman driving the Jeep was not injured (no, that’s not blood).

I pray the friends and family of the deceased will find comfort and peace in the midst of this tragedy.
